Qualification
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the following subjects:
- Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science
- Botany
- Chemistry
- Geology
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Statistics
- Zoology
- Agriculture, Forestry, or Engineering from a recognized university.
Candidates appearing for their final year examinations are also eligible to apply but must submit proof of qualification before the Main Examination.
Age Criteria
- Minimum Age: 21 years (as of 1st August 2025)
- Maximum Age: 32 years (Born between 2nd August 1993 and 1st August 2004)
- Age Relaxation:

- OBC: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years

Selection Process
The selection process involves three stages:
- Civil Services Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
- Indian Forest Service Main Examination (Written Test)
- Interview/Personality Test
Candidates must qualify in the Preliminary Exam to be eligible for the Main Exam. The final selection is based on the Main Exam and Interview scores.
Salary
Selected candidates will be appointed as Indian Forest Service Officers under the Level 10 Pay Matrix with a salary range of Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,77,500 per month along with allowances such as:
- House Rent Allowance (HRA)
- Travel Allowance (TA)
- Dearness Allowance (DA)
- Medical and Retirement Benefits
