Candidates will be selected through a competitive examination.

Qualification
To be eligible for the Sub-Inspector Prohibition post, candidates must have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized university or institution by 1st August 2024.
- Candidates appearing in their final year exams can also apply but must produce their degree before the final selection.
Age Criteria
The age limits as of 1st August 2024 are:
- General Category (Male): 20 to 37 years
- General Category (Female): 20 to 40 years
- Backward Class (Male & Female): 20 to 40 years
- Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (Male & Female): 20 to 42 years
- Bihar Government Employees: Relaxation of up to 5 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Upper age limit is 57 years
Selection Process
The selection process consists of three stages:
- Written Examination
- Preliminary Exam (200 marks, 2 hours duration)
- Main Exam (Two papers, each 200 marks, 2 hours each)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Running: 1.6 km in 6 minutes 30 seconds (male), 1 km in 6 minutes (female)
- Long Jump: 12 feet (male), 9 feet (female)
- High Jump: 4 feet (male), 3 feet (female)
- Shot Put: 16 pounds (male – 16 feet), 12 pounds (female – 10 feet)
- Medical Examination and Document Verification
Salary
The selected candidates will receive a salary as per Level 6 Pay Matrix of the Bihar Government.
